Using Women As Human Shields

The Stupids are at it again:

So how were these brave 2nd Amendment yahoos going to protect Bundy from the federales?

Here's how:   They planned to bring the feds to their knees by using women to shield themselves.

"Oath Keeper Richard Mack told Fox News in an interview that if the Bundy Ranch standoff had continued, or if federal agents started shooting, they planned to put women in front of the men in order to generate sympathy and publicity.

TPM: “We were actually strategizing to put all the women up at the front,” Mack said in a Fox News clip pulled by The Blaze. “If they are going to start shooting, it’s going to be women that are going to be televised all across the world getting shot by these rogue federal officers.”

"...if things came to a shootin’ war with the Feds — to put all the women out front, so they could bravely get shot first, to prove what monsters the jackbooted federal thugs are.

This sounds like the sort of perfectly sane thing a great strategic thinker might come up with, and turns out to be the brainchild of former Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack, who has a thriving business speaking to assorted wingnut groups and telling them that the true Constitutional power in this country is vested in county sheriffs, not the Federal Government."

Brilliant.

These wanna be freeloaders give daily lectures to the local congregations about not sucking on the government teat. Well, except ...

Free to them is good. Free to anyone else is bad.

Free water. Free grazing rights. Free access roads. But them city slickers outta pay fer all that stuff. Not honest hardworking Teabags who should get everything free.

Don't it drag on.

But Bundy wasn't using an Obama phone, so he was perfectly within his rights to steal from the government.

See when folks steal from the government and take our hard earned tax money and blah, blah, blah...

OBAMA PHONES!

I especially love the part where Bundy talks about how that land "belonged" to the Mormons before the gummint took it away.

What are the lives of a few women compared to the tyranny of grazing fees?

Thank you.

There is no need for this showdown mentality though. Give peace a chance. BLM handled this correctly.

Use the tools of law and order machinery to bring Cliven Bundy to justice. USA government has all the power and does not need the situation to be escalated into a violent confrontation.

Have the USA government deal with him like any other accused drug dealer law breaker; take him to court, arrest him, confiscate his property, and tie him up in legal actions. Mr Bundy will end up behind bars where he belongs.

Playing this up as a out of control riot situation is playing into Cliven Bundy hands.

The smart USA play is to back away. Back away and catch Mr Bundy another day.

The most disturbing parts of this story are not the grazing fees, the standoff, the militias, and the deadbeat Mr. Bundy, but the callous disregard for human beings - that these people will use women as hostages and human shields and value them for little more than bullet-proof vests.

This is not merely a news event about an anarchist rabble. This is about misogyny and depravity and tyranny masquerading as freedom.

Legs,

Maybe the most disturbing part is Americans fear they will be shot by their own government. Of course given the history of democrat presidents and their AG's that might be a fear founded in truth.

How disappointing this all must be for the left.

All those gun nuts in one place, facing off the federales, and not one person killed. Not even a shot fired, mind you.

Wrong. It was the federales, not the yahoos who avoided the violence. The confrontation was initiated by the wild west gunners hoping to fulfill their wet dreams of killing government agents over a crazy man's right to break the law.

How disappointing for the extremists on the right.

The BLM are the sane one in this story.

Thanks for enlightening the scud. When one glass is more than half full of opinion, the other glass is more than half empty of fact.

There's one more thing scud should know about cephalopods: BEWARE THE SEVENTH TENTACLE. In human terms, this is analogous to the middle finger.

As you can imagine, being a Christian missionary, I work with quite a few folks who would be considered extremely conservative in their political views.

I have one particular group that comes from a rural area. They are ranchers, and their family has been ranching the same land for over 100 years, much like Bundy.

While they do not always agree with the law, they work hard and try to obey it. And they always, always pay their grazing rights fees.

It's called the price of doing business. They are disgusted by this guy. he's giving all ranchers a bad name.

Listening to Bundy, I am reminded of when the Dixie Chicks were critical of Pres. Bush and the Iraq War.

They were branded as traitors.

Here we have a person and many supporting him who admit to recognizing the legitimacy of the US Government. As a Nevada citizen, we accept, as enshrined in our state constitution the "paramount authority" of the federal government.

Isn't Bundy's stance, and those armed supporters of his, by definition, pure treason?

Re: The Bundinistas and their plans to use women as human shields:

"Wiki — After World War II, it was claimed by German SS general Gottlob Berger that there was a plan, proposed by the Luftwaffe and approved by Adolf Hitler, to set up special POW camps for captured airmen of the Royal Air Force and the United States Army Air Forces in large German cities, to act as human shields against their bombing raids.

One of the most famous uses of human shields occurred in Iraq in 1990, following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait that precipitated the Gulf War of 1990-1991. Saddam Hussein’s government detained hundreds of citizens of Western countries who were in Iraq for use as human shields in an attempt to deter nations from participating in military operations against the country. A number of these hostages were filmed meeting Hussein, and kept with him to deter any targeted attacks, whilst others were held in or near military and industrial targets.
According to various accounts—including that of the American ambassador to the U.N., the

Taliban used women and children from their own population as human shields against coalition forces in 2006, and 2007, and when the British attacked during August 2008 during the war in Afghanistan."

Nothing like using Nazis, Saddam Hussein, and the Taliban as role models in going up against the US government.

Well done, Bundinistas!

Like the anon, I too supposed the anti-liberty leftists were disappointed that no gun nuts shot anybody. Imagine, that many rightwingers gathered in one place, with guns, and not one shot fired. Indeed, the msnbc crowd was deprived of a good story. Could have milked it for weeks.

So it turns out that Mr. Teabag is just looking for a free ride. Because freedom, I guess.

So, CSPOA's Sheriff John Mack is the object of liberal-lefty taunts for his suggestion that women be placed in front of the lines of any force defending against a federal assault on the Bundy Ranch. I don't know why Sheriff Mack thinks such a tactic would be all that effective, or why his critics find it to be all that controversial, since the federal government has long demonstrated that it has no qualms about taking the lives of innocent women and children. Exhibits in evidence:

A) Wounded Knee;

B) Vicky Weaver at Ruby Ridge;

C) Waco.

hmmmm...about those women they plan on using for 'human shield'.....just a couple of questions....

a) will they use 'lesbians-in-training' girls scouts?
b) does those women need a GOP approved vaginal probe and ultra sound first?
c) will Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann volunteer?

hmmmm and what does the Nevada 'Right to Life' folks think?

"Nevada Right to Life/Pro-Life League of Nevada will sponsor the second annual Camp Joshua, Institute for Life & Leadership at the Lake Tahoe 4-H Camp, May 2-4, 2014. "

maybe they could scrounge up some volunteers for future use.

If Bundy doesn't like paying the federal fees for grazing, he should try leasing private land. He would pay at least 10 times as much. We, the taxpayers, are subsidizing ranchers including, but not limited, to the Koch Bros who have several large ranching enterprises.

Frieda: "The government and the people are two separate entities. The US Constitution makes that clear. It is a document promulgated by the people to set up a federal government and charge it with certain duties."

And who carries out those certain duties?

Could it be the government officials who are elected by the people to represent them and their interests?

So how are "the people" and "the government" not interrelated?

Frieda: "I do lament its fascistic tendencies, from jailing dissidents and spying on us to unleashing armed belligerents on innocent citizens and foreign countries that have done us no harm."

We've done all that since we became a country. Ever read about the Spanish-American War? The American Indian Wars (which were the lengthiest wars in US history)?

It appears the TeaPublicans got all huffy about the "fascist" gummint only since a Democrat was elected president in 2008.

Spare us your deep concern over these "fascistic" tendencies. Our history is full of them (ever hear of union busting? The Civil Rights struggle? Gay bashing? and it is a constant struggle to get an apathetic citizenry to be aware of this.

and charge huge fees just wasn't all that great. What was that sign hanging in Physics lab?

Perhaps Frieda is the consort of Colonel Klinke, or one of those Timothy McVeigh sympathizers who think killing 168 people (including children), injuring 680, and causing an estimated $652 million in damage is their idea of “freedom" and "liberty.”

Yes, Timothy McVeigh was a survivalist, a Branch Davidian sympathizer, and no doubt would be a Cliven Bundy sympathizer if Timothy McVeigh were around today.

As for the freeloading Cliven Bundy, who owes more than $1 million to the government, he regards the recent “blood moon” lunar eclipse as a Federal plot. Crazy indeed; but crazy is the tactic of cheats, anarchists, and madmen who regard themselves as more privilege than honest citizens who pay their dues and respect public property.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Frieda is definitely not "Colonel Klinke." All one has to do is read his/her latest blog post to see that. The writing is atrocious.

The feds can go after Bundy via taxes and bank accounts, all nice and administratively, so there will be no iconic pictures and video that the different ideological camps can rally around.

There is a difference between "welfare" and the caustic culture of dependency that liberals actively seek to foster. The problem with the culture of dependency, of course, is that it fosters a continuous cycle of failure hurting the very people it is designed to protect. This because it causes them to create excuses for themselves, as opposed to actually working, or benefiting society in any way. This has the effect of not only hurting them, but destroying who they are. The eventual result of this culture, then, is a parasite. A leech upon society that no one can help anymore. This is what conservatives seek to prevent.
